Why Adopt A Rescue Dog...

Most adopters will agree that rescued dogs are extremely grateful for the care and attention they receive in a loving home.  Many families report that the bond they form with their rescued dog is much stronger than the bonds they have experienced with any other dogs in the past.

There are many other benefits to adopting a rescue dog.  All of our dogs have spent some time in a foster home, so we’ve had a chance to get to know each of their individual personalities and specific needs.  This enables us to give you a better picture of the dog’s unique requirements and a more accurate idea of whether or not a particular dog will suit your lifestyle.  Also, many rescue dogs are already house-trained and they have gotten past the puppy stage, so their attention spans are longer and they are easier to train.

By adopting a rescue dog, you can feel good knowing that you have literally saved a life, as millions of beautiful, healthy pets are euthanized in shelters every year due to the overwhelming pet overpopulation crisis that exists in North America today.  Please don’t contribute to the problem by purchasing a puppy from a pet store or backyard breeder---these dogs are bred solely for profit with little or no regard for the well-being of the animals.  To learn more about puppy mills and backyard breeders, please go to www.nopuppymillscanada.ca or take the time to view the short video on our home page.

Literally every breed and type of dog can be found within a shelter or rescue organization, but it will take time and effort to find a dog who is the perfect match for your family and lifestyle.  Please be patient and do your research---finding the right dog is important because dog ownership is a serious long-term commitment.  If you don’t find the type of dog you are looking for within our organization, please go to www.petfinder.com  where there are always hundreds of wonderful dogs looking for good homes.  Once you find the dog who is a perfect match for your family, all of your efforts will be rewarded!
