Success Stories

Benny was surrendered to Furever After Small Dog Rescue after his mom passed away and his dad had to go into a nursing home.  Benny had always been a well-loved companion, but now he needed to find a new family to call his own.  Within twenty-four hours of coming into our care, Benny's foster mom had fallen in love with him and had made the decision to adopt him permanently.  Prior to finalizing the adoption, Benny was taken to the vet for a routine examination, where it was discovered that he had a large rectal tumor that needed to be removed as soon as possible.  He tolerated the surgery well and we were relieved when the biopsy results came back negative; the tumor was non-cancerous.  Once Benny had recovered from his surgery and had been given a clean bill of health by the vet, his adoption was made official.  Benny has a loving and dedicated new mom and three canine siblings to run and play with.

***An update from Benny's family:

"Benny arrived at our home, greeting Sassy and wanting to play with Toby.  Sassy, Toby and I knew right then that Benny was the perfect addition to our family.

While it took a few days for Toby to warm up to Benny, they now play and chase each other around the yard and house daily, with Sassy supervising.  Bedtime finds Benny and Toby cuddled together on the bed and Sassy keeping an eye on them from hers."
