Success Stories

Buffi was dumped at a Los Angeles city shelter, along with her litter of puppies.  She and her puppies were rescued by our partner rescue group, Life 4 Paws, and placed in a loving foster home. Once they were old enough, all of the puppies were spayed and neutered and they found new homes in LA.  Nobody was interested in adopting Buffi, so she was flown to British Columbia in search of her forever home.

She has now found a wonderful new home on a private, treed 12-acre property in Powell River, which she shares with a Yorkie brother named "Muncky".  Initially, Buffi was quite insecure, but she is building trust in her new home and her mom is so grateful to have Buffi in her life.

***An update from Buffi's mom:

"How nice to hear from you AND giving me an opportunity to brag about Buffi.  I absolutely adore her and Muncky loves her too...most of the time.  She promptly destroyed 90% of Muncky's dog toys just to let him know who was in control.  Mind you, his toys were little wee cute things.  Now the toys are DOG proof.  They love to play and tear around the house...worse than kids.

I'm not sure how she feels about snow, but I think she's having a helluva good time.  However, her favorite time may be bedtime.  She wrestles with Muncky for a while then comes and taps my shoulder with her paw and insists on getting under the covers..., which she does.  I get up around 10...Buffi and Muncky sleep under the covers 'til 11 and then the day starts all over again.  She's happy, Muncky's happy, and I'm happy.  Thank you so much.  Also...she is slowly coming around with other people too and seems to prefer females, for now.  Please keep in touch and keep me in mind if another wee dog needs a home.”
