Chuy
was rescued from an abysmal hoarding situation in which his
medical and emotional needs had been badly neglected for many
years. He was
suffering from numerous dental abscesses and a painful luxating
patella with a torn ACL.
Chuy’s foster parents quickly fell in love with Chuy’s
brave and gentle spirit as well as his willingness to trust and
bond with them. They
were eager to adopt him permanently
and generously offered to pay
for all of his extensive medical expenses.
Chuy is now enjoying his retirement, living a life of
luxury with his forever family in Burnaby.

***An update from Chuy’s family:
“…now that Chuy’s broken and rotten teeth have been removed and his very painful leg has been mended, he's all done with upgrades! From here on, this tough little dog who managed to survive the mean streets of Los Angeles—including being shot with a pellet gun—can live out his golden years in comfort, surrounded by friends who cherish his company. Congratulations, Chuy Chihuahua!
Another great success story brought to you by Furever After; helping one friend at a time.”

Chuy at work ~ December 2007
***A note from Chuy's mom:
"Here's
a photo of Chuy at work, at our downtown office. His job is to
sleep, nap and occasionally do rounds to make sure everyone's ok.
He's a great team player but he doesn't like overtime. Every day,
around 4:30 pm, he starts getting antsy. By 5:00 pm, he's trying to
hustle me out the door!"
