Daisy
was picked up as a stray and spent several months in a local shelter
waiting for someone to come and take her home. Daisy was a
senior and the shelter was a very scary and stressful place for her,
so we took her into our care and placed her in a loving foster home.
Daisy was filthy and badly matted and she was suffering from kennel
cough. Her teeth were in horrible shape and she was in need of
dental care. She was also having some housetraining issues.
Once Daisy had received the veterinary care that she
required and her foster mom had gotten her well on her way to being
housetrained, she was ready for adoption. She found a fabulous
new home with a gentleman in Victoria who said it was love at first
sight. When Daisy had a seizure just prior to the adoption
being finalized, he didn't even blink an eye. We took Daisy to
the vet after her seizure, but the vet didn't feel it was serious
enough to warrant any intervention. Daisy's new dad was
prepared to deal with any further medical issues that might arise;
he just wanted to take her home!

***An
update from Daisy's dad:
"Daisy has me wrapped around her paw. I never thought I
would have to make my bed twice a day---she really gets into
tearing it up after dinner. Her muscle tone is getting firmer
and her appetite is good, got quite an attitude but seems to be
able to hear more now. Not much extra time any more, Daisy's
needs seem to fill it, she's a sweetie. Uh oh, she's awake! Time
for kong."
After spending nearly two happy
years in her forever home, Daisy's mind and body began to fail her
and she made her
journey to the
Rainbow Bridge.
