Success Stories

Gracie was eight years old when she was rescued from a hoarding situation involving over two hundred dogs.  Due to a history of extreme neglect, she was nervous of new people and fearful of new situations. While in foster care, Gracie made tremendous progress with her socialization and her foster family even taught her to play with plush squeaky toys! In addition to her emotional needs being neglected in the past, her medical needs were also ignored. But after recovering from her spay and dental surgeries, Gracie was ready to begin her new life with a wonderful family in Victoria.

***An update from Gracie's family:

"Just a quick report on Gracie. I don't get to see too much of her, because she is pretty well stuck to our son, Matthew. If she is giving me some attention, but hears Matt's voice or step, that's it. If he sits on the floor, she is on his lap, if he sits on the sofa, she is on the sofa, and so on. But she is losing her shyness with us, and really seems to enjoy being around people. She is also quite fond of a couple of her toys, and brings them out to play. She seems to have adopted Matt's bed as her own.”
