Hannah
was rescued from a busy city shelter in Los Angeles,
where her life was in danger due to critical overcrowding. She
had been badly neglected and was suffering from numerous untreated
medical conditions.
She had no hope of being adopted in Los Angeles, so she was flown to
British Columbia where
she could be given a second chance at life. Hannah
was in rough shape
when she came into our care. She was suffering from dry eye
and her eyes were badly infected; she had already lost some of her
vision
because the condition had been ignored for so long. Hannah had
never been spayed and she had several mammary tumors, one of which
was quite large. The tumors were removed
when Hannah was spayed and thankfully they were benign. Hannah
was in need of dental care and her ears were extremely filthy and
infected.
She was also in the early stages of heart failure
and was suffering from lung
congestion,
but she responded well to medication. Hannah spent four months
in foster care receiving the medical treatment that she needed along
with
some well deserved TLC from her dedicated foster mom. After
spending months nursing Hannah
back to health, her foster
mom decided to adopt her
as a permanent member of the family. Hannah is enjoying her
new life on Vancouver Island and her medical needs
will never again be ignored.
After sixteen happy months in her forever home,
Hannah finally succumbed to heart failure and made her journey to theRainbow Bridge.
