Success Stories

Harley was surrendered to a city shelter in Los Angeles at the age of ten months. His owner said that he already had “too many dogs”. While in the shelter, Harley became depressed and withdrawn; nobody wanted to adopt him. The shelter was overcrowded and Harley’s time was up. He was rescued by our partner rescue group, Life 4 Paws, and placed in foster care where he subsequently developed an abscess, which was treated with antibiotics.

Once he was healthy, Harley was flown to Vancouver, where he found a wonderful forever home.  He now enjoys daily walks on the sea wall and goes to agility classes with his canine sister, Billie, who was also adopted through Furever After Small Dog Rescue.

***An update from Billie and Harley’s mom:

“Huckleberry Harley Hound (Huck) has learned that he has many names. He is such a delight and has a sense of humor! They both wore their bright sweaters to the beach yesterday. Huck loves his sweater and prances around with his tail up, tongue hanging out. Little Billie usually takes her sweater off when we get back in the car. They are best pals and love school, where they learn fun stuff! They are the lights of my life. The world is a better place for having these dogs in it! You are doing a great service for dogs and people alike.”
