Success Stories

Holly was two years old when she was surrendered to a local shelter with her litter of puppies.  The puppies were quickly adopted, but Holly was extremely fearful in the busy kennel environment and her chances of adoption were not good.  She was overwhelmed by all the strangers and she was growling and snapping at potential adopters. Holly had been quite neglected in the past and she was missing large patches of hair all over her body from being malnourished and infested with fleas.

Holly was taken into our care and after spending several months in a loving foster home, she was like a brand new dog!  Her confidence had grown and she had become playful and friendly.  While in our care, Holly was spayed, tattooed, micro-chipped, updated on her vaccinations and her teeth were buffed and polished.  She was also treated for an anal gland infection.  Over the course of time that it had taken to nurse Holly back to health both physically and emotionally, her foster parents had fallen in love with her and decided to adopt her as a permanent member of the family.  Holly's mom works from home, so she has plenty of time to spend with her and Holly will have lots of canine siblings and foster siblings to run and play with!

Special thanks to Jan and the Calendar Girls for sponsoring Holly and assisting with her medical costs.
