Success Stories

Hugo was surrendered to a local shelter at the age of fourteen as his family could no longer care for him.  Although still happy and spry, he was in need of extensive dental work and treatment for congestive heart failure. Due to his ongoing medical issues and advanced aged, Hugo was not a good candidate for re-homing, so he was adopted by his foster family. Hugo is now receiving the medical treatment that he needs and he is enjoying his retirement in his new home on Vancouver Island.

***An update from Hugo’s family:

“Hugo has been with us for just over a year now and, although he’s fifteen years old, he still has a lot of spunk!  He loves to go for car rides and strolls on the beach, he loves to snuggle up on the couch and watch a good movie, but above all else, he loves to eat!  He really prances and dances when we’re preparing his meals!  Our only regret is that we didn’t meet him sooner!”

After spending two happy years in his forever home, Hugo lost his long battle with heart failure and made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.
