Joey
was a senior when he
was picked up as a stray and taken to a local animal control
facility. He waited almost three weeks for his family to come for
him, but nobody came to claim him so he was taken into rescue. He
was suffering from kennel cough and was in desperate need of some
dental care. Once he had received the medical attention he needed,
Joey found a wonderful forever home in Langley where he has retired
in comfort with a family who adores him.

***An update from Joey’s family:
“We just wanted to keep you updated on Joey's new life at the farm. He has definitely settled in well and is relaxed and comfortable. He has been here a month since yesterday and we were just saying, "Wow, only a month, it seems like he has lived with us forever!" He is certainly a part of the family now.
He is relaxed enough that he will follow you around when he wants, but also takes himself off for a nap when he feels like it. He loves going for a ride in the car and comes running when he hears the keys jingling! He is so very cute and friendly. He goes to everyone, and is happy to be picked up and carried around. Sometimes he can be quite bossy about this (in a cute way) barking insistently when he wants up or when he wants you to move from a single chair to the couch so he can sit beside you!
He gets along well with the other cats and dogs in the house and doesn't let them push him around. They are all happy with him now as well, and have settled back into their routines. All in all we are thrilled to have Joey as part of the family.”
Special thanks to
Maggie and the Calendar Girls for sponsoring Joey and assisting with
his medical costs. |
