Success Stories

Louis was eight years old when he found himself homeless after his elderly guardian had to go into a seniors' care facility.  He had led a very sheltered life and he needed some socialization and confidence building.  Louis reveled in all of the new adventures that he experienced in his foster home and he discovered the absolute joy of walking on beaches and trails.  He also started to learn about toys and play!  After being tattooed, micro-chipped, updated on his vaccinations and having his teeth buffed and polished, Louis was ready to find his forever family.  He found a wonderful new home with a very loving couple on Gabriola Island.  Louis has a canine sister named "Celeste" and his new mom and dad are retired, so they have lots of time to spend going for walks on the beaches and trails.

***An update from Louis’s family:

"Everything with Louis is going well.  I almost feel guilty as it has been so easy to integrate him into the household.  The first evening Louis was a little tense, but still ate well.  Celeste tried the tactic of ignoring in hopes that he would vanish.  Now they are both more relaxed and slept well in the bedroom.  Louis has even had a play session with the squeaky toy.  Thanks again."
