Mario
came into our care after being surrendered to a veterinary clinic
because his owner could no longer afford his medical care.
Mario was suffering from chronic skin rashes and ear infections due
to severe allergies, which had plagued him for his entire life.
Mario spent five months in
our foster care program while we worked with our vet to develop a
plan of care that would be successful over the long-term.
Mario's foster parents were extremely patient and dedicated as we
tried numerous different diets and medications in order to find a
treatment plan that would work for Mario. While in his foster
home, Mario was also neutered, micro-chipped, updated on his
vaccinations and provided with the dental care he needed.

Mario was adopted by a
wonderful family in Victoria, who are very committed to helping him maintain an optimal level of health and happiness. They
are currently consulting with a veterinary dermatology specialist
and are hoping to pin-point Mario's allergies precisely so that his
medications can be discontinued completely.
Mario has a very bright
future ahead of him with a family who adores him!
***An update from Mario's
family:
"Mario's really been
enjoying his outings lately. With the great weather we've been
out for some nice walks, including Butchart Gardens where his new
haircut is making him quite a few international friends.
People just start oohing and aahing over him, petting him,
photographing him with their children. He's been fine with it
all.
Lately his skin has been
really good, too. That's so nice to see, less scratching and
better sleeping at night.
Take care, and we'll talk to
you soon!"
