Success Stories

Max was only two years old and he had already been through five homes!  He was surrendered to a local shelter after reportedly "lunging" at a child.  As a result, Max was not made available for adoption to the general public and he was in danger of losing his life.  Rescue groups were his only hope.  When Max came into our care, we discovered that he was simply an unruly adolescent who had never been taught any manners---but we could see no evidence of any aggression.

Max fit so beautifully into his foster home that it seemed like he had always been there.  It quickly became clear that he had finally found his forever home.  He is now living the good life on Vancouver Island---going for daily runs on the beach with his canine siblings and keeping his new mom and dad laughing all the time.  He's quite a little clown!

***An update from Max’s family:

"Max has secured gainful employment as a personal trainer for two of our other dogs: Zoe, who had hip surgery last May and Lizzie, who was hit by a car prior to coming into our care and suffers from nerve damage in her hind end.  Max loves to run and play ALL THE TIME and enjoys motivating others to do the same!  In exchange for his services as a personal trainer, Max receives free room and board, full medical benefits and the promise of a lifetime of unconditional love."
