Punky was only ten months old when his owner surrendered him to an
overcrowded shelter in Los Angeles. He was badly infested with fleas and ticks and was having an allergic reaction, which caused him to lose patches of his hair. Punky's
owner claimed that he had bitten someone, which meant that he could
not be made available for adoption to the general public. So
he was taken into care by our partner rescue group, Life 4 Paws, and he proved to be a gentle, loving soul.
It was hard to believe that he was capable of aggression. He was flown to Vancouver and
he found his forever home in Penticton. Punky's new dad was prepared to work with him if he displayed any signs of aggression, but Punky has been nothing but sweet and playful.
***An update from Punky's dad:
"Just wanted to let you know that Punky is doing really well and now has a lot of friends who love him. Lots of offers to "take him off my hands" (forget it!) He really loves people and looks a lot different now than his picture at the beginning. Just want to let you know that I really appreciate the work you are doing to help all these little critters, it is a great thing! So thanks from me and the Punkster."
