Ringo
found himself homeless in the aftermath following a divorce. He was
two years old when he came into our care and he was in desperate
need of training and socialization. Although he loved people
and he was eager to please, he was quite a handful and he had never
been taught basic obedience. He also needed to learn how to
get along with other dogs because he had never had much exposure to
them in the past. Ringo was placed in a loving foster home
with three other dogs and his dedicated foster mom began working
with him right away. He was a good student and responded well
to structure and guidance.
In addition to Ringo's
training and socialization needs, he also had several health issues
that required attention. As is common in French Bulldogs, he had
difficulty breathing due to his short muzzle. This also made
him very prone to overheating and put him at high risk for heat
stroke and dehydration during the summer months. While in our
care, Ringo had surgery to widen his nasal passages as well as two
surgeries to shorten his elongated soft palate. He was also
suffering from severe food allergies, which resulted in
uncomfortable skin rashes and itchy flare-ups. In consultation
with a veterinary dermatologist, Ringo was started on a strict
hypoallergenic diet which was effective in getting his skin problems
completely under control. Ringo was finally ready for
adoption!
It took a long time
to find exactly the right home for Ringo, but we finally found the
perfect match! Ringo was adopted by a young man in Burnaby who
has lots of experience with the breed and is eager to continue his
training and socialization. Ringo has a fabulous future ahead
of him!

Special

wonderful care that they provided. |
