Success Stories

Rudy was a local dog who was taken into our care when he was eight years old, as his owners were moving and couldn't take him with them. He was in rough shape when he came into rescue. He was badly infested with fleas and had licked and bitten himself to the point that large patches of hair were missing from the rear portion of his body. His teeth were rotting and falling out and his ears were badly infected. He had never been neutered and had an undescended testicle, which put him at high risk for testicular cancer, but thankfully there was no cancer found when he was neutered.

Once his medical needs were addressed, Rudy proved to be quite a little character. He quickly bonded with his foster mom, who has always had a weakness for Yorkies, and it didn't take long to realize that Rudy wasn't going anywhere---he had already found his forever home!

Rudy loves to go for long walks in the woods and snuggle up with his mom at night. Although he only has three teeth left, he enjoys chewing and takes great pride in getting the chew toys all soft and gooey for his canine siblings. Rudy is quickly learning that life is good in his new home and he'll never have to worry about being neglected again.

Thanks to Small Animal Rescue Society of BC for telling us about Rudy and helping to coordinate his rescue.
