Success Stories

Sophie was taken to a local shelter by a good Samaritan after she ran in front of a gravel truck and almost got hit.  She had been on the run for a long time.  She was exhausted and needed medical attention; the pads of her feet were raw from running on the pavement.  She was very stressed at the shelter, so the shelter staff called to see if we could help.  When she came into our care, Sophie was filthy and horribly matted.  She was suffering from diarrhea and kennel cough, her teeth were badly abscessed and she had never been spayed.

After she had received the medical care that she needed and had spent some time recuperating in a loving foster home, Sophie's true personality began to shine through and she was quite a little character!!!  It took a while to find the perfect home for our little diva, but she finally found a wonderful forever home in Maple Ridge.  Sophie's new family adores her and truly appreciates her spunky terrier ways!

***An update from Sophie’s family:

"Just thought I would give you an update on Sophie.  Our big dog Chase was diagnosed with lung tumors a week ago and has had to be put down (best for him).  Our dear little Sophie has been a god send for me.  She has blossomed so much since we first adopted her, but since Chase has been gone (only a week) she has taken it on herself to be my shadow.  It is like she knew that that is what I needed!

She is absolutely wonderful and has fit into our home and lifestyle perfectly.  Where we go, she goes!  She is still learning to adjust to the cat, but he is tolerant!!!

Thank you again for our little treasure."
