Dogs in Foster Care

The dogs featured on this page are not yet available for adoption.  They are currently receiving some much needed TLC in loving foster homes where they are provided with the medical care and/or training that they require. Sponsoring one of these needy dogs would be welcomed and greatly appreciated!

Daphne was found wandering stray in a remote northern community.  She was just nine months old and she had been neglected and abandoned.  When she came into our care, she was badly matted and she needed to be completely shaved down.

Daphne is currently spending some time in a loving foster home while we get to know her better.  Her dedicated foster mom is  working on her housetraining and manners.  She will need to be spayed and thoroughly vetted prior to adoption.

Cleo was surrendered to our care because her guardians no longer had time for her.  She was receiving very little exercise and was spending 10-12 hours alone every day---she was not coping well with this at all.  She was suffering from separation anxiety and we felt that she would quickly deteriorate in a shelter environment, so we agreed to take her into our care.

Cleo is currently spending some time in a loving foster home while we get to know her better.  She has already been spayed, tattooed, micro-chipped and has had some dental care completed.  She is currently receiving treatment for chronic ear infections.  She will be ready for adoption once she is feeling better.

Maggie was surrendered to our care because she was a shy and fearful dog who's condition was rapidly deteriorating.  Her guardians didn't have the time or patience to work with her and she was getting to the point that she was too stressed to even eat properly.  She was extremely underweight when she came into our care.

After spending some time in a loving foster home, Maggie's confidence has grown and she has started to gain some weight.  She has been spayed and vaccinated and she will soon have some dental care completed.  She will be ready for adoption once she has had some time to recover from her dental surgery.

Abby came into our care via a local shelter.  She had an enormous mammary tumor, which was successfully removed and was found to be benign.  She was also spayed, vaccinated and her teeth were buffed and polished.

Abby is now spending some time in a loving foster home with three other dogs so that we can continue working on her training and socialization.  She will be ready for adoption soon.

Special thanks to Shelly and Cross Our Paws Rescue for sponsoring Abby and assisting with her medical costs.

Thomas came into our care via a local shelter.  At just one year of age, he had been neglected and abandoned.  He was living on the streets and fending for himself.  He was malnourished, terribly matted and his skin was badly infected.

Thomas has been neutered, updated on his vaccinations and provided with some much needed grooming and skin care.  He is currently spending some time in a loving foster home so that we can continue to work on his housetraining, manners and socialization.  He will be ready for adoption soon.

Stewart was surrendered to our care after he was unknowingly purchased from a puppy miller in an on-line transaction.  Stewart was flown to his new home and it was readily apparent from his condition that he had come from a horrible situation.  The lady who had purchased him immediately realized her mistake and she did not want to return him to such a terrible place.  However, she did not have the money to provide Stewart with the medical  care that he so badly needed.  So Stewart was taken into our care and placed in a loving foster home.

Stewart's foster family is working on building his confidence and helping him with his housetraining.  He will also need to be neutered, vaccinated and have some extensive dental care completed prior to adoption.

Ellie and Monty are now permanent fosters.
