Dogs in Foster Care
Bailey came into our care by way of a local animal control facility. She was terrified in the busy shelter environment and she was becoming more and more withdrawn with each passing day. She was hoping that nobody would notice her as she lay curled up in a ball at the back of her kennel---filthy, matted, infested with fleas and too scared to eat. Bailey was in danger of being euthanized because she was growling when people tried to approach her. Bailey is currently spending some time in a loving foster home so that we can get to know her better. She was bred repeatedly in the past and it is likely that she is a former puppy mill dog who was dumped because she could no longer "produce". She is happy to be in a warm, safe home surrounded by people who treat her with kindness and compassion. Bailey will be thoroughly assessed and vetted prior to adoption.
Cassie came into our care after being surrendered to a local veterinary hospital. She had been brought to the clinic for euthanasia, as her owners could not afford to provide her with the medical care that she needed. Cassie had several large bladder stones, which were causing her a great deal of discomfort and she desperately needed surgery to remove them. Thankfully the vet clinic called to ask for our help! Cassie is only six years old and she has many wonderful years ahead of her. She is currently recovering from her surgery in a loving foster home. She will be ready for adoption once she's feeling better.
Gino was a stray who ended up in a local animal control facility. He was never claimed and we were asked to provide assistance due to Gino's medical needs. Gino is currently spending some time in a loving foster home so that we can get to know him better, while providing him with the veterinary care that he requires. He has been vaccinated, neutered and he has had some dental care completed. When Gino first came into our care, he was showing signs of weakness in his hind end which needed to be investigated. X-rays were done while Gino was under anesthetic and a radiologist was consulted. The specialist concluded that no surgical intervention was needed. The weakness was related to a soft tissue injury which will most likely heal with time. Gino is showing definite signs of improvement and he will be ready for adoption soon.
Kylie was surrendered to our care because her elderly guardian was no longer able to care for her due to illness. She is currently spending some time in a loving foster home so that we can get to know her better, while providing her with the veterinary care that she needs. She has already been vaccinated, spayed and she has had some dental care completed. Kylie is a shy girl, so we are working on confidence building and socialization. She will be ready for adoption once she's had some time to recover from her surgery.
Abby was originally a stray who came into our care by way of a local shelter. She had an enormous mammary tumor which was successfully removed and much to our relief, it was found to be benign. At that time, she was also spayed and had some dental care completed. Since then, Abby has been spending time in a loving foster home while searching for her forever home. However, she was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, so she will be staying with us a bit longer while we get her condition stabilized. She will be ready for adoption once she's been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian.
Teddy is a senior who was surrendered to a local animal control facility after his elderly guardian passed away. He is currently spending some time in a loving foster home while receiving treatment for chronic skin infections related to severe allergies. He has already been neutered and he has had some extensive dental care completed. Teddy will be ready for adoption once he is feeling better. Video Clip:
